CE Certifications and Pre-Compliance Testing

Bringing Products to Market with EMC and CE Approvals

EMC Testing and CE Certification

Since 1992, The Enerdoor Group has specialized in EMC testing and CE Certification providing on-site flat rate testing to customers around the world through an efficient, global organization. Our flat rate testing service is unique in the industry, as is our pledge to not leave the facility until equipment is compliant.

The CE Directive has been in force since January 1996 and dictates that all electric and electronic components in machinery and manufacturing plants meet the minimum requirements as indicated by the Directive.

The CE mark is a symbol that a manufacturer affixes to a product so that it can be sold in Europe. The mark is mandatory for products that fall under the European Directives.  The CE mark means the manufacturer takes responsibility for the compliance of a product with all applicable European health, safety, performance, and environmental requirements.

CE stands for “Conformité Européenne", which is French for "European Conformity" and includes the entire European Union, Turkey, and Israel.  The global equivalents to the CE mark are as follows: FCC in the United States, CCC in China, VCCI in Japan, RCM in Australia & New Zealand, and KCC in South Korea.

On-Site Flat Rate Compliance Testing

As one of the top-ranked CE labs in the country, Enerdoor offers a wide range of testing methods and Standard compliance.  Our flat rate, on-site testing specializes in the measurement and analysis of electromagnetic compatibility of systems in accordance with the EMC, FCC Part 15, and Safety Directives. Enerdoor filters provide solutions to meet the conducted, radiated, and immunity test requirements and utilize mobile laboratories to perform necessary tests at the customer’s facility.

Find the CE Directive that Applies to Your Product

How do you know if your product requires a CE mark? The list of products that apply the CE mark is broad, but in general all electrical products must comply to the Directive and all OEM equipment must meet CE Standards.  Generally, OEM equipment follows three major Directives:

  • EMC Directive 2014/30EU
  • Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC
  • Low Voltage Directive 2014/34/EU

What is the Status in the USA and Canada?

The USA has FCC Part 15, which is a certification for electronic products manufactured in the United States or for products imported into the USA.  The electronics and industrial markets follow two regulations:

  • Part 15 is for digital devices like cell phones and printers.
  • Part 18 is for industrial, scientific, and medical equipment.

For industrial applications, FCC is very similar to the EMC Directive. The goal of both agencies is to limit and minimize the emission of unintentional “radio-frequency” interference that may cause problems to other devices.

What is Pre-compliance testing?

Depending on the machinery and certifying body, CE certification can be a lengthy and costly process. To save both time and money Enerdoor can perform pre-compliance testing to ensure machinery is compliant before being CE certified.

Save Time and Money with EMC/CE Pre-Compliance Testing

A potential machine compliance failure can compromise a project's deadline and release date. If you are looking to improve your chances of passing EMC/CE testing and would like to lower the risk of failure, pre-compliance testing is a great way to go.

Enerdoor offers flat rate on-site pre-compliance testing before moving to the final Compliance test – saving you both time and money.

Do You Need Pre-Compliance Testing?

Pre-compliance testing is beneficial if:

  • You are an OEM attempting to bring machinery to the global market in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • You want to ensure compliance before being certified at a large testing house
  • You are concerned with the efficiency of your machinery or the efficiency of the machinery in close proximity

How may Enerdoor be of Service?

Unlike the majority of our competitors, Enerdoor offers a flat-rate testing service with a guaranteed solution. Enerdoor stays on-site until a solution is found. This saves our customers both time and money by avoiding multiple testing fees and production downtime if the machinery does not pass the first time.

Enerdoor EMC engineers can provide a portion or the entirety of the CE Certification process and prepare all documentation for the Technical Construction File (TCF) as proof of CE Compliance.
